7 statistic based benefits of SEO
I feel like optimizing a site for search engines gets a bad wrap. I mean, having an optimized site is crucial if you, as the site owner, want to make more money/drive more traffic. A large complaint that I have heard is that SEO is time consuming, something that is too confusing and takes way too much time to figure out. I hear ya! That’s the number one reason why I decided to create SEO Simplified (the course that teaches you how to force Google to play nice!) because I wanted to provide a solution that made learning SEO super easy and showing business owners + bloggers efficient ways of optimizing their sites.

Let me tell you why you, the boss babe of all boss babes, should care about search engine optimization and integrate this aspect of digital marketing into your businesses or blog’s life. And let me back up each of these points with a crazy statistic, just because I think that makes these points even cooler.
1 | THERE ARE 2.9 MILLION SEARCHES PER MINUTE
Yeah, 2.9 million. So out of all those people searching away on Google/Yahoo/Bing, those people could be coming to YOUR website to find out what you have to offer. They could be searching for trendy kid’s clothes and if you are a children’s boutique then of course you want your online store to pop up on the first page of all these search engines so you can land that sale! The great thing about SEO is that you accomplish tasks (that I explain and walk you through in my e-course) and after these tasks are accomplished you don’t have to accomplish them again, and they do all the work for you without you touching another button!
Get this. There are 2.9 million searches per minute. There are 175 million searches every hour. There are 4 billion searches every day. There are 131 billion searches each month. There is a lot of searchin’ going on and I don’t want your business or blog to get looked over just because all these searchers couldn’t find you and gave up.
2 | SEARCH DRIVES 400% MORE TRAFFIC THAN SOCIAL MEDIA DOES
Okay so it took a little convincing for me to believe this because, even though I am a crazy SEO lady, I am also very adamant about using social media to drive traffic. But, you know what? When it comes to search engines.. people’s main focus is searching for sites like yours! So of course search generates 400% more traffic than social media because when someone is searching, they are in the mindset of finding a website that fits their criteria of “need.” With social media users, the user is not in the searching mindset they are simply scrolling through their feed looking for silly videos and updates on those they care about. Social media definitely has major perks but investing time into making sure your site is optimized for people to search and find you, is crucial.
This statistic is from the infographic made by y2m.ae so feel free to check more into it.
3 | 75% NEVER SCROLL PAST THE FIRST PAGE OF SEARCH RESULTS
So they are looking for trendy kid’s clothes and if your online boutique doesn’t pop up on the first page then you may need to rethink your site’s optimization. If your site gets stuck on the second or third page, which is still good for a general search phrase (but not good enough!), than you will get looked over. Of course, once they actually find your site they will fall in love because I’m sure it is beautiful in every way. It’s just the process of getting those searchers to land in the right place, which is the place you provide!
4 | 60% OF CLICKS GO TO THE TOP 3 ORGANIC SEARCH RESULTS
60% of those billion searches go to the top 3 ORGANIC (non-paid) search results. Guys. This is a LOT of traffic going to those top three sites! Imagine how your business would transform if you saw your site showing up as the top three organic search results in different categories under different search phrases. How exciting!
5 | 80% SAY THEY DON’T CLICK ON SPONSORED SEARCH RESULTS
You know those search results that pop up at the top because some company has paid for them to pop up there? Yeah, 80% of search engine users say they don’t click on those because it is obvious someone has paid for that spot. These users automatically go to the top 3 organic search results, which are the search results that popped up naturally and did not pay for that spot. Which could be YOU!
6 | 50% SAY THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO CLICK IF SITE APPEARS MULTIPLE TIMES
So if multiple pages of your site rank on the search engine result page, you’re golden. I mean this not only proves your credibility but also, everyone is going to leave that search engine page thinking “what a BOSS!” 😉 I mean I already think that about you and your awesome biz/blog but you just have to convince all these search engine users!
7 | 44% OF ONLINE SHOPPERS START WITH A SEARCH ENGINE
Guys. This is golden. Do you know how many people 44% is?! That is a LOT of potential customers that are looking for the products that YOU sell/services YOU provide! It’s exciting. Just realizing how optimizing your site for search engines can completely transform your business and increase your revenue is fantastic.
